Shawn suspects his father wants to kill him. Written in the voice of Shawn McDaniel, a boy with cerebral palsy, this book gives a voice to someone who is normally voiceless. Shawn is smart, he feels, he’s not a ‘vegetable’ as his family believes. This story explores the evolving relationship between father and son and their mutual attempts to understand each other.
